Dr. Anand Sancheti is a pioneering Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon whose vision and dedication have transformed cardiac care in Central India and beyond. As the founder of Newera Hospitals, he brings over two decades of clinical excellence, academic leadership, and humanitarian service to the forefront of modern healthcare.
Dr. Sancheti completed his M.S. in General Surgery followed by M.Ch. in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. Ranked second in the All-India Superspeciality Medical Entrance Exam in 1999, he has since risen to become one of India’s most respected heart surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the Indian Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons (FIACS).
He has performed over 5000 successful cardiac surgeries, with more than 1000 of them done completely free of cost under government schemes in rural regions. Dr. Sancheti was the first surgeon to establish a cardiac surgery program in rural Maharashtra, at Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital, Wardha, which became an MCI-recognized teaching unit by 2012.
Known for several “firsts” in cardiac surgery across Maharashtra and Central India, Dr. Sancheti’s innovative milestones include:
- First in Maharashtra to perform AWAKE open-heart surgeries (double valve replacement, congenital ASD closure, and CABG).
- First in Central India to conduct minimally invasive cardiac surgeries, and unique pediatric surgeries like Cor Triatriatum and Arterial Switch.
- Second in the world and the first Indian to perform Anaortic Total Arterial Off-Pump CABG in a Dextrocardia patient.
His academic leadership includes chairing sessions at national-level CMEs organized by IACTS and authoring cardiac health books in Hindi, Marathi, and English—distributed free to over 10,000 rural patients. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery and was instrumental in MCh education reforms at DMIMS (DU), where he served in various academic and leadership roles.
Dr. Sancheti’s contributions have been recognized through prestigious awards such as:

- Best Citizen Award by Dr. Changani Charitable Trust
- Versatile New Member Award by Academy of Medical Sciences
He received appreciation for his social and surgical contributions from dignitaries including Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister, and Padmashri Dr. D.Y. Patil, Hon. Governor of Bihar.
